Salaam instead of swiping.

A swipe reduces a human being to a split-second verdict. A Salaam is a greeting with meaning — an expression of interest that asks for a considered response. Maktub lets you send one Salaam at a time so introductions stay deliberate.

Maktub Salaam system instead of swiping

Intention in every introduction

Sending a Salaam means you read the profile and chose to reach out. That small friction protects dignity on both sides: the sender is not mass-liking, and the recipient knows interest was specific.

Islamic etiquette (adab) in seeking marriage emphasises sincerity and respect. A system built around named interest aligns better with that spirit than anonymous double-tap culture.

Pace limits protect everyone

Weekly and concurrent Salaam limits prevent spam and pressure. If someone is not interested, they are not buried under dozens of unanswered likes.

When interest is mutual, photos unlock and messaging opens — the next step is earned, not assumed.

It is written.

Maktub replaces likes and left-swipes with a single, intentional Salaam — one person at a time.
